On 3–4 October 2026, Chișinău celebrated the 25th edition of National Wine Day (Ziua Națională a Vinului), Moldova’s biggest wine festival. The theme of this anniversary edition was “United by Wine”.

A new Guinness World Record

On the first day, 493 people gathered in the Great National Assembly Square and formed the world’s largest human image of a grapevine: about 39 metres long, with roots, a trunk, branches, six bunches of grapes and six leaves. A Guinness World Records adjudicator confirmed the record on the spot.

The festival in numbers

  • 114 wineries
  • 116,880 tastings in two days – more than 100,000 for the first time
  • About 14,000 tasting passports sold
  • Visitors from more than 70 countries

Sparkling and rosé wines were the stars of the year, with tastings up about 60%.

Did you know? This isn’t Moldova’s first Guinness record. The Mileștii Mici cellars hold the record for the world’s largest wine collection.
